Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because your vehicle runs on a multiplex wiring system, the wiring needs to be converted to be compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hitch is excellent, installation was straight forward quality is good. Purchased ball mount and ball to go with. Don’t forget the hitch pin like I did.
The lighting adapter kit was a bit of a disappointment. It works but installation was not easy on the Chevy Equinox. I was surprised to find that the controller requires 15 amps of power from a direct battery connection. I have installed trailer wiring on other vehicles that did not need battery power.

The instructions need to be clearer..such as the connection point is where the lights bulbs connect to the wiring harness is where the inline connector goes..thats why they say to remove the tail lights..otherwise, all went well… if I was to do this again,I I would go to U-Haul and let them do it..would be well worth it
Good quality and straight forward install. The one thing I would have changed is the length of the lead wire from the control box to the drivers side tail light patch connector. All the other harness sections have more than adequate length, but in order to get enough slack in the lead to the drivers side connection, I had to tear off and re-place the control box up higher on the body in an area that is not as flat and suitable to mount it. 2 or 3 more inches on that lead wire would have made it so the box mounts very nicely on the lower flat side of the rear body rail. All in all, a good product, just might need a tweak to fit the new Equinox perfectly
This is the 3rd order from etrailer and have never had a problem. The hitch was easy to install but you will need two people to hold the hitch in place while you put a couple bolts in place to secure it. I do not have a lift but using a jack and some stands will work just as well. My son and I were able to install it in just about 75 minutes. The online videos were perfect and document each step of the process. I also purchased a light kit as well but did not have the chance to install that yet. I will be doing that down the road and will let you know how I make out.
Chevrolet used different electrical connectors on different configurations of the same vehicle, such as on the Equinox, they used different wiring connectors on the LS, LT and Premier and whether or not the vehicle was delivered with a hitch, or not, and some had a built in wiring connector for subsequent trailer wiring, or not, and diesel powered units may or may not. Obviously this is confusing and I ordered the wrong kit for my application. I have a diesel LT. etrailer communicated extremely well and we solved the problem quickly, exchanging the first kit with the correct one. Great people. I thank Carol and Odelia

I installed the wire harness using etrailer video guide without major issues. I used more tie wraps but that's just me.
After a year and a about 8000 miles with my trailer the harness works without any problem.
Vehicle is Chevy Equinox 2019 LT.
The install of this wire harness went very smooth after watching the video. The step by step narration made wasneasy to follow. It took about 2 hours in my driveway. The materials provided are all good quality too.
I needed this wire harness to pull a trailer with the hitch that I got and installed from Etrailer a few years ago. I have been using the hitch for a bike rack which has been very handy and solid. Great products that are simple to install at home!
You will need a car lift to install the harness. You must raise and lower the vehicle at least 3 or 4 times. The last being to snake the power lead to the vehicle battery in a way so as not to pinch or burn it.I went to an auto electric shop to have it installed.

No problems so far.
Wiring harness worked well. Installation is relatively easy if you can follow directions. No issues in a year since installation.
I was told by a hitch installer that the hitch I was looking for would not be available for 3-4 weeks. I found the hitch on etrailer.com. ln three days the hitch was on my porch, along with the wiring harness. Had it installed the next day. Very pleased with the service. The information shown on the site and the videos were very helpful. Will definitly be back and will recommend etrailer.com to my friends!
In the past I had always spliced-in the wires when installing wiring for a trailer hitch on a vehicle, but never again after seeing how simple this kit makes the job. With weather proof connectors that snap together, it will be much more reliable than the old splice method. And, it is impossible to wire it incorrectly, which could happen when you're looking for the right wire to splice into (or so I've heard).
I probably sound like a broken record because all my reviews start the same. I ordered this and a trailer hitch to install on a friend of mines vehicle. Like always, the right stuff, the right price and on time. You help me keep my promises to friends and customers.
Installed the hitch on my 2020 LT1 Equinox. Easy install if you read the instructions and watch the video before you begin the install.

Great and works perfectly
Wiring harness fit my vehicle perfectly with simple plug in installation and performs as expected every time I need to tow a trailer.
The video with step-by-step instructions worked out perfectly with no hiccups everything was as described in the description before purchase and installing the hitch and wiring harness was very easy and done in a timely manner highly recommended!

I have actually had one installed since 2018 but due to an electrical problem in the trailer (short) it damaged the module. Thats good because it protected the cars electrical system from any damage. Once I replaced the module everything is working great again!
